1. Acceptance of Terms

By using TruckRest, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. You must be at least 18 years old to use TruckRest.

2. Description of Service

TruckRest is a platform that helps HGV and commercial vehicle drivers find overnight parking spots. The service includes:

• A map of parking locations (truck stops, laybys, industrial estates, etc.)
• Crowd-sourced availability status updates from drivers
• Reputation system to identify trusted contributors
• Route planning features (PRO tier)

3. No Guarantee of Accuracy

Important: TruckRest provides information on a best-efforts basis. We cannot guarantee:

• That parking spots shown are currently available
• That locations allow overnight parking (always check local signage)
• The accuracy of crowd-sourced status updates
• The safety or suitability of any location

You are responsible for verifying parking is permitted and making your own safety decisions.

TruckRest expressly disclaims all liability for:

• Parking fines, penalties, or towing fees
• Vehicle theft, damage, or break-ins at any location
• Personal injury or harm at any location
• Business losses or missed deliveries from relying on availability data
• Any other consequences of using information from this service

4. User Conduct

When using TruckRest, you agree to:

• Provide accurate information when adding spots or posting updates
• Not intentionally post false or misleading availability status
• Not abuse the reporting or voting system
• Not attempt to manipulate your reputation score
• Not use the service for any illegal purpose

We reserve the right to suspend or ban accounts that violate these rules.

5. User Contributions

When you add parking spots or post status updates, you grant TruckRest a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and share this information with other users. You retain ownership of your contributions but allow us to use them to provide the service.

6. PRO Subscription

TruckRest offers a paid PRO subscription with additional features. By subscribing, you agree to the following:

• Launch pricing guarantee: During our launch period, PRO is available at £1.99 per month. If you subscribe at this price, you will keep this rate for as long as your subscription remains active. We may introduce higher pricing for new subscribers in the future, but your rate is locked in while you remain subscribed.
• Billing: Subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe. Your payment method will be charged automatically each billing cycle.
• Cancellation: You may cancel at any time from your profile page or via the Stripe billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period - you retain access until then. Note: if you cancel and later resubscribe, the price at that time may be different from your original rate.
• Refunds: We do not offer refunds for partial months. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us within 14 days.
• Free tier: The core TruckRest features (map, spot creation, status updates) remain free. PRO adds route planning, saved spot notifications, predictive data, and offline access.

7. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time from your profile page. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Upon termination, your personal data will be deleted per our Privacy Policy. If you have an active PRO subscription, it will be cancelled automatically and you will not be charged further.

8. Limitation of Liability

TruckRest is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless TruckRest and its operator from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the service, your contributions to the platform, or your violation of these terms.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of TruckRest after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. For PRO subscribers, we will provide 30 days' notice of any material changes to subscription terms. Your locked-in subscription price will not change while your subscription remains active.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
